Cowen’s appointment marks a natural evolution of her involvement within the VIS ecosystem. A dedicated Off Season Club member since its inception, she has spent the past six weeks independently organizing and hosting free open runs for women in Fort Lauderdale—creating space, consistency, and community where it’s often lacking.
Through this new role, VIS World and Cowen will formally collaborate to expand and strengthen women’s basketball infrastructure across South Florida. The partnership will bring additional resources, visibility, and organizational support to the Broward runs while maintaining the grassroots energy that has made them resonate.
“Jasmine has been doing the work,” said Najja Moon, Co-Founder of VIS World. “What she’s built in a short amount of time reflects exactly what the Off Season Club is about—creating intentional spaces for women to show up, compete, and stay connected to the game. This partnership allows us to support and grow that effort without losing what makes it special.”
As Broward County Program Manager, Cowen will lead weekly open runs, foster local community engagement, and serve as a bridge between Miami and Broward-based hoopers. Her leadership supports VIS World’s broader mission to build a connected ecosystem for women’s basketball—one that extends beyond city lines and creates consistent opportunities to play.
