PRESS RELEASE: MIAMI VIS OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

The city of Miami has been awarded a WNBA expansion team. The move comes after the league’s off-season snowbird project was cut short when executives declared an early and fated decision. “The risquè lifestyle and vibrant culture of Miami matched that of our vision for expansion,” said a league spokesperson. The newly founded Miami VIS will take the court Spring 2024.

The organization will be owned and operated by Co-Executive chair ladies, Jaki Goldner and Najja Moon, who plan on debuting their inaugural roster across several leagues and lounges throughout Miami-Dade county beginning in March.

“We’re redefining what it means to expand the league by way of our namesake, VIS” said Jaki Goldner, VIS CEO. “With force and power, we’ll be the only team strong enough to break the chains and reimagine what a professional basketball organization can be.”

With record viewership, fanship and attendance across the WNBA last year, the addition of the Miami VIS is a strategic nudge that will send the league scurrying beyond its existing boundaries. Through cultivating a non-wholesome women’s basketball environment, the organization will pillar itself on three goals. To VIS (Force) the issue: Grow the league’s game, to build a culture where players can be themselves, to remind folks: The game still loves you back.
