FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MIAMI, FL — August 31, 2026 — The Miami VIS are proud to announce the addition of Adashia Franklyn to its coaching staff as the team continues to expand its program and support the development of women athletes in South Florida.
Franklyn joins The Miami VIS with experience as both a collegiate player and coach. She played at Saint Joseph’s University before continuing her basketball career on the coaching side as a graduate assistant with the University of Connecticut women’s basketball program.
Her experience within Division I women’s basketball brings another valuable perspective to The Miami VIS as the organization continues to build an environment where women can develop, play, and remain connected to the game beyond college.
“As we continue to raise the level of play and create more opportunities for our players, it’s important that the people on our coaching staff understand both the basketball and the larger vision behind what we’re building,” said Najja Moon, Co-Founder and General Manager of VIS World. “Adashia brings that perspective, and we’re excited to have her with us.”
Franklyn will work alongside The Miami VIS coaching and basketball operations staff to support practices, player development, game preparation and the continued growth of the team.
Her addition comes as The Miami VIS prepare for an expanded slate of play, including participation in the On Her Level 3×3 League, the Tigertail Oshaane Brothers Tournament and additional regional games against semi-professional opponents.
The Miami VIS was established as the team arm of VIS World, a Miami-based women’s basketball organization creating opportunities for women to continue playing, training, developing and building community through the game.
The addition of Franklyn marks another step in VIS World’s ongoing effort to create meaningful, sustainable opportunities for adult women athletes to continue pursuing basketball beyond traditional collegiate and professional pathways.
